Our school offers unparalleled training in all forms of dance and acting. All dance students receive supportive, encouraging, and detailed training with emphasis on correct technique and artistry. In almost all cases, skill takes precedence over age when PDT determines a dancer's level.
BALLET
Our ballet program is second to none and provides the base for most other forms of dance. Whether a student desires to train for a professional career or takes ballet for fun and fitness, PDT's ballet classes are among the best in the country.
Our advanced ballet students have been accepted to the top summer intensives in the country. These include: Kaatsban; American Ballet Theater in NYC, Atlanta, Detroit and California; Joffrey; Julliard; Boston Summer Dance, Boston Dance Lab; Orlando Ballet; Miami City Ballet; San Francisco Ballet; Pittsburgh Ballet Theater; Atlanta Ballet; North Carolina School of the Arts; American Academy of Ballet; Sarasota Ballet; and Richmond Ballet. Our dancers are or have been members or trainees of ballet companies including: Orlando Ballet, Ballet Met, Washington Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Houston Ballet, Columbia City Ballet, and Staten Island Ballet. Others have gone on from PDT into some of the most esteemed college dance programs including: Indiana University's Jacob School of Music's Ballet Department, NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Rutger University's Mason Gross School of the Arts, and The University of Utah, Department of Ballet.
A trial or placement class is necessary before registering for Level 1 and above.
